Pressure-treated wood is wood that has been chemically treated to protect the wood from rotting and insects. This wood product will crack and twist as it is a natural product. Maintenance is required to maintain the wood’s colour.
CEDAR: Cedar wood is a natural wood that has not been treated and is more environmentally friendly. It is a softer wood than pressure treated wood and therefore it is less likely that the boards will twist, and some will crack. Maintenance is also required to preserve the wood’s colour otherwise it will go grey when exposed to the sun.
COMPOSITE IS A DURABLE, LOW MAINTENANCE PRODUCT which still provides the beauty of wood. It is engineered to outlast and has a high performance shell that makes it fade, stain and mould resistance. It will not rot, crack or warp either. It comes in a variety of brands and colours and some composites come with a 25 year fade & stain warranty.
